Should I Use A Regular VCR Or A S-VHS VCR?
S-Video was designed to help people alleviate the cost of DVD players when they first arrived on the market by supposedly providing a better VHS picture, nowadays even the DVD players offer this option, unfortunately S-Video is not nearely as good as it was claimed to be and it has all but flopped int eh past couple of years. The difference of S-video to Composite is nearly trivial because both formats are og and designed for the same picture resolution, also because you are doing home movies which are probably done with a low grade cmos or ccd sensor (as most camcorders are made) the difference for you would be unnoticeable, I think in the light of the cost difference of a s-video cable to composite it is far more practical to just use composite.
