What is Houston, TX like and how are the people that live there?

Apart from the slight change in weather..it's not much different. I must admit that Houston City ( downtown ) is beautiful. A very open place unlike other cities where I used to live. I like the million and one ways around town besides the freeways. ( stay away from the Pierce Elevated at rush hour ). There are tons of things to do, places to visit and cultural events. Galveston is but a hop skip and a jump away. The pay scale is pretty comparable to most places ( depending on what you work in ). Crime is like most cities..( stay away from SW side of town ). Schools ( higher education ) has a good selection. U of H is pretty good, my son goes there. The people are pretty open, but like any place we have our share of ******* who would sell their grandmother if it suited them. HCC I don't know much about. I think you will like it.
