How do I deal with boyfriend who allows his dog to completely soil carpet?

that is a hard one ... obviously your boyfriend loves this dog and has had it forever ... i would have a hard time putting a dog down just because of incontinence ... and i don't think you should judge your boyfriend for loving so unconditionally because he probably loves you that way too ... you may not love the dog and you may resent the dog but clearly your boyfriend is not ready to let go and a super bitchy girlfriend who can't shut up about it, is not helping the situation ... i think you should sit the boyfriend down and tell him you are done with cleaning up after the dog ... he is welcome to care for his dog as long as he wants but it is on him ... tell him you are only saying this because in your heart of hearts you feel it is time for the dog to go and not because of cleaning up, but because the dog is at the end of its life and to put her to sleep is the compionate thing to do ... tell him you will be there for him to help support him through the process, but you are done with caring for the dog ... and it is not abnormal the way he is attached to his dog, any dog would be so lucky to have love like that ... don't judge your boyfriend, respect him for not being an unfeeling human being ... because i am sure you benefit from having such a caring boyfriend ...
